Harris & North Uist, Outer Hebrides
On many Hebridean islands Peat is still cut in the summer months , stacked to dry and used for fuel in the winter.

I love the colour, shape and structures of the peat banks and stacks.

​Formed over centuries it contains secrets of the past in the pollen it preserves.
